Chelo Candia
General Roca, Río Negro / Artwork: “La feliz de noche y de día”
The composition aims to convey, at first glance, happiness, joy and movement. It immediately evokes a happy Mar del Plata through the gesture of a girl who dominates the image and a text that seems to surf the waves. A second look allows us to see the allusion to the passage of time from left to right with the presence of day and night, and also takes us to a visual tour that starts from the Torreón del Monje building, as a symbol of the past but placed in a present of color, and culminates in the nocturnal Mar del Plata, of neon and future. The classic airplane on the posters travels through the sky, encountering a levitating whale with butterfly wings, which also looks happy in its contradiction of weight and lightness, incorporating the magic and amazement of a wonderful city.
