Mar del Plata / Artwork: “Moldear Ciudad”
Shaping a city is not an easy task and seeking beauty in this chaos is a virtue, as Gustavo Cerati said. In this composition I seek the interpretation of what my view of the city is and with the aim that whoever sees the work makes a free appreciation by seeing and discovering different situations. The current Mar del Plata and its energy, always with that retrospective that reaches us all, makes this sequence of figures with those conductive threads of spontaneous painting awaken the senses to multiple reinterpretations. The forms that I use in my work refer to silhouettes related to objects, constructions, species and rhythms that my city gives, composing landscapes and views that give rise to different perceptions for the eye. In the center of the work, a “smile” is generated referring to this Mar del Plata premise, “the happy one”, configured by contours allusive to our marine species spilling continuities of these proposed figures on its sides. The colors of the palette are the primary ones since I always feel that this gives me the freedom to create any other range made up of blues from the sky and the sea, yellows from the light and the sun and reds from the passion and energy that we have. . Here they also play an allusive role to the colors of the DAD and its modern and contemporary imprint. In this milestone for the city of unprecedented construction, the fact that the kickoff is with murals makes it even more attractive and that is a reason to celebrate.
